User Interface Design

We have completed graphics design projects for small single units to entire refineries. We have also worked on multiple DCS platforms and can assist in making our advanced graphics work on these platforms.

How We Approach Graphics Development

The feature that distinguishes our approach to graphics development is that it is a systematic process firmly based on Human Factors principles, industry experience, and DCS system capabilities.

The typical approach to graphics, especially during a modernization project, is to simply pass the pass the plant P&IDs to implementers to be reproduced into graphical displays. This approach often leads to numerous displays, deep navigation structures and a large number of graphics that are never or rarely used. These types of displays do not really support the tasks required of the operators and often make it difficult to find the needed information when time is critical.

Our goal is to provide operators with the information they require at the appropriate level of detail and in a form that takes advantage of human cognitive capabilities. The correct combination of content and information presentation enables the operations team to perform their jobs more effectively during normal and upset conditions.

Our methodology contains a multi step process, with the end goal of providing simple, coherent and usable graphics.
